In the spring of 2008 Ballard Homes for All Coalition contacted Tilt to aid in the design and construction of a mobile shower prototype for homeless in the neighborhood of Ballard. BHFAC, initiated a Residential Safe Parking Program (RSPP) to assist the growing population of homeless living out of their cars and to offset the inadequate services that were being provided by the city. Partnering with local Churches and Sustainable Ballard, BHFAC estbablished a policy for the RSPP and worked with TiLT to set-up a pilot site. To date we continue to work with BHFAC. The Residential Safe Parking Program is making its way through city and state legislation and we expect to see the pilot site put in action within coming months.
